With the breeding of the frogs in my ponds, I also learnt to tell the difference between a frog tadpole and a toad tadpole, just in case any toads got past the egg stage.

The frog tadpoles have long graceful tails while the toad tadpoles are stumpy. The toad body and tail are about the same length.
